I am not sure about others but it is hard to read the ship name abbreviations in Firefox 7. The 3 letter abbreviation partially disappeared into the ship graphics.

Suggestions:

Move the name slightly higher by half the height of the label.

Have a transparent/white spot on top of the ship graphics and put the name there.
