The draggable windows has been a very nice feature so far.
Adding colour to the ship names (and bolding the text on your own ships) was a very nice touch.
I did have one small suggestion. In the "User Messages" box could you include the turn number when the message was posted. Currently on the date and time of the message are used. Added the turn information would help debugging efforts.

Yeah, and it could be useful to have two separate message box (1 x faction) and hidden to the other faction in order to coordinate the maneuvers
Actually, something like this where there was a finite list of command words that could be given, such as is used with the emoticons, would be . A series of symbols could be used to send a specific signal. For instance, ## could mean "turn", @ could mean "port", and 23 is the designation of the ship PROVENCE, so that 23,##,@ could be translated as "PROVENCE turn to port". The symbols become, in effect, the signal flags.
The list of signals could be fixed or, if not too much trouble, be made so that the flag captain for each side could compose his own set of signals. A set list of signal words could be set up with an adjacent box that could be filled in with any symbols desired by the flag captain before the game began that would remain fixed for that game only. Other players from that side could refer to this code book, but the other factions players could not. The first way is probably much simpler, but thesecond way would give the would-be codebreakers among us something else to do!
Anyway, just an idea. Take it or leave it as it suits you, WETmasters. |
