| Message text Congrats to the Geddies for their convincing victory over NAW in game 20206.
This one-sided victory was sparked by the outstanding performance of veteran player Steve (sfatula), scoring a spectacular 104 points while commanding the small British frigates! Just a minor footnote to a long, gloried history for this grizzled old-timer. He is followed in the scoring drive to the win by Derek (derekticus), with 54 points, in command of the Brittania battle group.
Leading the point totals for the losing North Atlantic Warriors was Hubert (dcr66).
Is this indeed the opening shot to a Cup title this season? It definitely appears to this "unbiased" reporter as a deliberate exercise in muscle-flexing, intended to put the rest of the League on notice of their intentions to not accept prisoners. But, the season opening is not necessarily the harbinger of things to come, merely serving notice to the other teams that the Geddies are for real this year, and not to be taken lightly.
