Well, maybe, but it is part of the rules of the game. Riggingless ships can turn 60 degrees per turn. My problem comes in when all remaining ships are so damaged in the rigging that they can't possibly reach one another to finish the game.
We aren't playing here for overall points, there is no placing, no tournament, just some friendly games, so I don't see why we can't strike our ships if they are totally incapable of engaging the enemy or incapable of being engaged by what is left of the enemy fleet.
If somebody has heartburn over giving the other guy points when he strikes, make it so that nobody gets the points if there isn't an enemy ship capable of getting to it. In other words, the different fleets rigged up something to get themselves under way and just left to fight another day, which in reality is what they would have done.  |
