Message text I know that when a ship loses all its guns, it strikes...
A ship's ability to fire will degrade as it loses guns, as shown in the Hit Determination Table (HDT). If all gun squares are marked off, and no friendly ship of the same or larger class as the firing ship is within ten squares distance, the ship will surrender to the first enemy ship that can move into an adjacent hex and fire a broadside into it. The ten hex range is determined at the moment the broadside is fired. This is known as â€surrender by firepower.†In this case, the ship is an obstacle to other ships' guns.
However, since boarding rules are going to be available in the Basic game, does this rule still apply? You could use a disarmed ship still as a boarding platform, could you not?
Or is this a rule in the original game? |
