I've noticed that, unlike bluemax, the game easily gets to a point where one of the players has no hope of winning the game or making it home alive (for example, if you are outnumbered). This is because, with respect to bm, the ships have very little manoeuvrability and huge fire arcs!
In those cases, a "surrender" button would be very useful!!!
