| Message text I don't know if it would solve the problem of forcing an end to scenarios where one player does not wish to admit the defeat. However, I do agree that an option to offer an enemy the chance to strike his colours and end a game would be a useful time saver. I would suggest that such an option be coupled with a timer as well, so that once offered it would have to be responded to or the game forfeited. The side offering the option to strike would need to have an advantage in speed and the ability to close with the enemy, in order for this option to work. This would allow a victory in cases where a damaged enemy is so far away from pursuing ships that they cannot be caught within the "non hostility timer" but they are gradually being overhauled and would eventually be caught and destroyed or captured. Perhaps the hostility timer itself could be modified to determine if a pursuing ship is overhauling an enemy vessel and thus suspend the count down to game end. |
