One use could be when its obvious that one side is going to run for the 10 turns to end the game and there is nothing to prevent it.
Be careful... some folks don't like players who worry about points.
I don't worry about points, although I have been accused of such, as I prefer team play, but that is your option. I like the big "W"... WIN! They can have all the points they want, as long as I'm on the winning team!
Just surrender, as long as you don't burn anybody on your team. Points mean absolute squat!

I don't care about the point differential, just the win/loss outcome, but the means of ending the game would be quicker if neither side had the temptation to play things out to keep their points. Allowing both players to end with their current score would remove that temptation. No big deal though.
