First, I gave a somehow longer answer in this same thread.
Second, when you contact a specialized professional (doctor, lawyer, engeneer, programmer) you do not expect him to enter deeply in details. It is normally sufficient to have his opinion together with a rough explanation of the way he got it. And you normally accept it exactly out of his authority.
Third (but not last) I am personally sick of people with a bad understanding of statistic and large numbers law. Like people betting fortunes on retarding numbers in lottery. But this is my fault.
